Caldwell’s ERCOT electric conversion on schedule

The City of Caldwell’s conversion to the ERCOT power grid remains on schedule for March 12, City Administrator Camden White told the city council on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Primary early voting ends Friday

There are two locally contested races in the March 2 primaries both are Republican races: Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace and Burleson County Treasurer.There are no Democrats running for local county positions.And, early voting for both the Republican and Democratic primaries end Feb. 27.

Man charged in assault case

Somerville police arrested a 32-year-old Somerville man on Monday, Feb. 9, on a felony assault charge in connection with a Feb. 6 attack on a woman on Low Wood Road.Harley Edward Lawhon was charged and is now free on $7,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
