Kerr Co. man charged in kidnapping arrested

A 35-year-old Kerr County man was arrested on Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, in the Somerville area on a Kerr County aggravated kidnapping warrant.A 38-year-old Kerr County woman who was kidnapped on Monday, Feb. 2, was also located at the scene unharmed and is now safe.

City council, school board filings continue

Filings began two weeks ago for those running for local city councils and school boards and will continue until Feb. 13 at 5 p.m.The election for positions on city councils and school boards will be Saturday, May 2.The first day to file for the May 2 election was Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Goat rescued from well by Caldwell firefighters

Caldwell volunteer firefighters got a chance for a different kind of rescue last Friday in Chriesman This time it was a little goat.And it was a thrilling experience to rescue her.

Snook VFD puts out brush fire off F.M. 60 East

Snook firefighters responded on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24, to an unattended brush pile off F.M. 60 East, near the F.M. 3058 intersection, but the fire was contained to the burn area.Someone was burning tree stumps, logs and limbs on land off F.M. 60, located just west of the F.M.

18-wheeler fire erupts on State Highway 36 N

The cab of an 18-wheel tractor-trailer rig hauling heavy equipment caught fire and burned up on Thursday, Jan. 22, on State Highway 36 North, but the driver and a passenger were able to get out safely.The Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department responded at 4:23 p.m.
