The Caldwell Hornets defeated Giddings 7-2 last Friday at home to secure at least a share of the District 26-2A championship.
Caldwell, 7-2 in district play, was seeking an outright district title in a road game at Smithville on Tuesday, April 23.
A loss would drop them to 7-3 and a co-championship with Taylor.
