The Caldwell Hornets basketball team opened their season with a 7161 road win over Hempstead last Friday.
Caldwell grabbed some early momentum with a 22-17 first quarter lead and led 38-29 at halftime and 55-48 after three quarters.
Jaden Hagen led the team in scoring with 23 points, followed by Dylan Chapman, 17, Ryan See, 11, Cayden Zboril, 9, and Blane Castaneda, 7.
