Delores Ernie Kovar

Delores Ernie Kovar, 85, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

A public visitation was held in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Interment followed.

Delores was born on Saturday June 18, 1938, to Emil and Ella (Lehman) Marburger in Dime Box, Texas. She was one of three siblings.

Delores graduated high school in Dime Box, Texas.

In 1957, she met the man of her dreams, Kenneth Manning Kovar. They were married on Saturday, June 1, 1957.

To this union came three beautiful children, Leroy, Keith and Lamar.

Together they made Caldwell, Texas, their home and farmed, raising chickens and beef cattle.

When they were first married Delores worked at Boedeker Clothing.Then she worked at Loehr and Weber feed store until she retired in 1984 to take care of Kenneth when he was severely injured in an accident.

Delores loved being a homemaker. Caring for the family was no easy task, but she made it look simple and always had time for her beloved husband and children.

She enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers, then canning her produce.

Delores was also an amazing cook and baker.

She enjoyed sewing, making clothes, quilting and crocheting. And, and Delores loved her polka music.

Fishing was also one of her favorite past times. She would drive her fourwheeler down to the tank to see what she could catch.

Delores was a good, strong, hard-working, down to earth woman.

She loved God and attended church as she was able. Delores was a member of New Tabor Brethren Church.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister.

She is survived by her children, Leroy Martin Kovar and partner, Ronda Owens, Keith Manning and wife, Jean Kovar, and Lamar Kent Kovar and wife, Sondra Kovar; grandchildren, Tiffany Rawls and husband, Tony, Aaron Kovar, Kelly Urbanosky and husband, Jeremy, Kyle Kovar, Hunter Kovar and partner, Shelby, Sarah Schoppe and husband, John, Jacob Kovar and wife, Emily, and Colleen Kovar; great-grandchildren, Brooks Urbanosky, Trudie Kovar, Matthew Schoppe, Irene Kovar, Ruby Kovar, Lane Kovar, and Ray Schoppe; and brother, Emil Charles Marburger, Jr.
