Dennis Edwin Mitchell, 68, of Caldwell, passed away on July 4, 2024, surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell, from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m.
Dennis was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Robert E. Mitchell and Lela (Kagabein) Mitchell on February 25, 1956.
He got his Associate Degree in Computer Programming from TSTC.
He spent his life in various careers as an equipment operator, offshore rig manager in Saudi Arabia, and later became an over the road truck driver.
Dennis loved life and adventure.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and collecting and restoring old cars.
In his early retirement, due to his battle with cancer, he devoted time to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He loved helping others and no matter how hard he was fighting his illness, he never stopped being selfless and making others smile.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lela Mitchell; his mother and father-in-law, George and Doris Courtney.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Mitchell; son, Johnny Botkin; and daughters, Terri Graham (Scotty), Nicole Colley (James), and Lindsey Mitchell; as well as his sister, Denise Love (Barry); and his brothers, Gayland Mitchell (Tina), David Mitchell (Robin), Steven Mitchell (Cheryl). He is additionally survived by his grandchildren, Lee-Ann (Simpson) Cravens, Courtney Sebesta, Jordan Botkin, Morgan (Simpson) Botkin, Blake Botkin, Emma Colley, Ashlee Botkin, Brylee Malota, Raylee Boudreaux; and his great-grandchildren, Kace, Kyler, and Kynder Cravens, Grayson and Lincoln Stephens, and Judson Botkin.
