Jessie was born on December 20, 1940, in Caldwell, Texas, and lived here most of his life with the exception of the years he served in the United States Army. He joined in 1963, and was Honorably discharged in 1965.

He attended school in Caldwell.

Jessie met the love of his life at Sugar and Spice in Bryan, Texas, and on November 1, 1963, they were married.

He worked at Nagel Manufacturing for over 40 years as a machinist.

Jessie was always a supporter of his wife’s and families volunteer projects. For various fundraisers he would make custom barbecue pits, and wooden crosses got them to donate.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Burleson County Relay for Life.

Jessie’s family is grateful for his life and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ, his wife, family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, godfather, and friend who will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Jessie could be summed up with these words God, Family, and Country.

He loved to help others, whether it was repairing a car or remodeling a house, he was the fix-it guy.

During his lifetime, he developed countless hobbies, one of them being working on and fixing cars, if he could get his hands on a set of tools.

Jessie especially enjoyed assisting in the remodeling of his son’s homes. His dream, years ago was to design and build a home from the ground up but other family priorities came first.

The news was also a great interest to Jessie, watching intently the local and national news. Along with some of his favorite Westerns, HGTV, Food Network, EWTN, and as he called them America’s team those Dallas Cowboys. He was able to attend several NFL football games in the old stadium and at the new Cowboys Stadium.

Despite all his hobbies, nothing gave Jessie greater joy than time spent with his family; this above all was his greatest and most treasured memories. Jessie had a true heart of gold, always looking out for others, lending a listening ear, or giving a hug to his grandchildren (their pops). Jessie was a strong believer in his faith and always put his family first. Jessie was taken from us far too soon, but he leaves behind a legacy and lifetime of memories that will forever be in our hearts.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Petra Enrique; his wife, Margaret Enrique; and daughters, Patsy and Juanita Enrique; as well as three brothers; and two sisters.

Jessie is survived by his children, Michael Enrique and Rhonda Emery, Jessie Jr. and his wife, Andrea Enrique, Sarah Enrique, Victoria Enrique, Victor and his wife, Isabel Enrique, of San Antonio, Mary Jane and her husband, Lucas Pineda, and Mary Alice and her husband, Alvin Peel, all of Caldwell; the light of his life, his grandchildren, Mark and Nancy Enrique, Michael Jr., Mary Elizabeth and Rene Malagon, Samuel, Jessica, Jessie III, Patsy, and Ethan; along with seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dad, we will miss you immensely. You were our “go-to” when life got rough; you were our sanity in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone we could count on, and although you were a straight shooter, you always got your point across without judgement, and always provided us sound advice. Because of you, we have the hearts of a lion, the love of our family, and a steady work ethic as well as an unshakeable faith.

We thank you Dad for the wise words of advice, the love you gave us and the beautiful lives we’ve lived because of you, your hard work and your boundless love for us. We are all better people Dad, because of you. We will forever hold you in our hearts with God.
