A funeral service for Patrick George Marek was held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Central Baptist Church, 1991 F.M. 158, Col-lege Station, Texas 77845.
Patrick was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Bryan, to Joseph and Marcella Marek.
He graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 1970 where he met his wife, Desiree’ Allen Marek.
They were married on Nov. 25, 1972.
Patrick graduated from Texas A&M University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Parks.
He started a small construction company that he cultivated into Marek Brothers Construction Company. He and his oldest brother Joe worked together daily for over 30 years and held ownership of the company until they retired in 2021.
Over the years, Patrick and Desi loved spending spring breaks skiing with their children and grandchildren in Telluride, Colorado, and summer vacations on the sugar white sands of the beaches in Florida.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Desiree’ Marek; two daughters; two sons-in-law; one son; one daughter-in-law; 11 grandchildren.
