Richard Allen Bowers Jr., 74, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 11, 2024.

A public visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on August 22, 2024, in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Richard, or “Dick” as he was lovingly known by his friends and family, lived life to the fullest. He had the biggest most caring heart, and was known for his generosity and kindness.

In his youth he played five varsity sports for the mighty Caldwell Hornets, and then continued his football career for NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona.

To his son Eric, he left his legacy of the best barbecue you’ve ever tasted.

He always had a deep love for golf as well and shared that passion with his stepdaughter Lauren.

Dick served his country in the Army and Air National Guard. He then moved back to Caldwell and continued his career in the oil and gas industry.

Dick met and married the love of his life, Lori, and they shared a love like no other -- true soul mates. They were married 30 wonderful years and share so many incredible memories -- memories she will treasure forever.

Dick and Lori’s love is a true testament to the holy vows they took so many years ago.

In their lives they learned the true meaning of “for better or worse” as Dick suffered from dementia for the last several years of his life. Lori always went above and beyond to ensure his care and quality of life was unmatched.

His loving smile and warm hugs will be dearly missed by all, but we find comfort in the fact that he is home in Heaven and free of his earthly burdens.

Dick was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Bowers; and his father, Richard Bowers Sr.; along with his sister and brother-in-law, Sara Ann and John Symank.

He is survived in death by his loving wife, Lori Bowers; his son, Eric Bowers; stepdaughter, Lauren Killingsworth and her husband, Chase; and his only grandson, Jace Killingsworth; sister, Bonnie Davis and husband, Murphy; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Linda Cannon; sisters- in-law, Lana Teakell and Kathy Bledsoe and husband, Rodney; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
