Betty Marie Jones, age 79, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, after 13-plus years with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the youngest of 10 children born Betty Marie Kornegay to William Thomas Kornegay and Pauline Cox in Caldwell, Texas, on December 9, 1939.

A memorial service for Sue Simpson Beran will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell. Mrs. Beran died peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the T. Boone Pickens Faith Presbyterian Hospice Facility in Dallas, Texas.

A funeral Mass for Harold Jerome Urbanosky Sr., 88, of Plantersville, was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Reverend Edward C. Kucera Jr., pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville, as the celebrant. Burial followed at 3:00 p.m.

RICHARD ROBERTS

A memorial service for Richard “Coyote” Roberts, 70, welder, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Mr. Roberts died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018. Richard was born on July 18, 1948, in Cleveland, Texas, to Glenn and Wilma (Thomas) Roberds.

Darwin C. Brown, 91, of Lexington, was called home to his Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. and were held in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Visitation was an hour before the services at the church.

Lynne Matcek, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at her home early Wednesday morning, July 3, 2019. Lynne Camilla Carlton Matcek was born on July 20, 1938, in Covington, Ky.

Mary Evelyn Brown passed away on June 22, 2019, after a fouryear battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell on July 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. She was born on January 5, 1949, in Pasadena, Texas. Mary married her husband, Charles K.

Funeral services for Loretta Lea Laffere, 81, of Deanville were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Deanville with Rev. Terry Moon and Rev. Terry Bage officiating. Burial followed at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m.
