Caldwell’s new defensive look, implemented in the Cuero loss last week, looked better in last Friday’s 29-14 home loss to Giddings, keeping the Hornets in the game and giving them a chance.
However, the offense, battling injuries in the season’s final weeks, was inconsistent with Coy Becka and Braxton Fritcher out of the lineup.
