Yeguas earn co-title in 70-53 Mumford win
The Somerville Yeguas, using all the aggressive defense they muster, startled Mumford last Tuesday with a 28-5 first quarter run and won 70-53 to earn a district co-championship.
The Yeguas, now No. 11 in the state, won at home before a packed house of loud, appreciative fans who had waited a long time for this -- 21 years to be exact.
The Yeguas last district title in basketball was in 2002-03.
