The new Somerville Family Practice Clinic is expected to open this month, filling a major health care need in the area.

City, school election filings end Feb. 13

Those wishing to file for a position on local city councils and school boards have until next Friday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m.The election for those city council and school board positions will be Saturday, May 2.The first day to file for the May 2 election was Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Go Texan fundraiser set for this Saturday at Expo Center

The Burleson County Go Texan Association’s annual scholarship fundraiser will be held this Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Burleson County Expo Center, beginning at 7 p.m.The event will include live music by Crossroads, silent and live auctions and concessions by the Ol’ Army Cookers.

Kerr Co. man charged in kidnapping arrested

Kerr Co. man charged in kidnapping arrested

A 35-year-old Kerr County man was arrested on Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, in the Somerville area on a Kerr County aggravated kidnapping warrant.A 38-year-old Kerr County woman who was kidnapped on Monday, Feb. 2, was also located at the scene unharmed and is now safe.

Caldwell volunteer firefighters got a chance for a different kind of rescue last Friday in Chriesman This time it was a little goat.And it was a thrilling experience to rescue her.
