Texas producers plant corn amid uncertain markets

The corn market has been relatively strong as Texas producers monitor planted fields in southern areas and prepare to plant in the High Plains.But that strong market might not last due to market pressures and a large increase in projected planted acres nationwide, said Mark Welch, Ph.D.

Drivers need to be aware of motorcycles

In the more than 9,000 motorcycle crashes in Texas last year, 585 motorcyclists were killed. These crashes can be prevented if drivers learn to share the road and watch out for motorcycles.Train yourself to notice motorcycles. They’re smaller and lower to the ground than cars.

Quilt Guild donates quilts to Hospice BV

Creative Memories Quilt Guild donated 83 quilts to Hospice Brazos Valley on Wednesday April 23.Alexis Curle from Brazos Valley Hospice was on hand to accept the quilts.The Guild supports the community by contributing to many community projects throughout the year.

POSGCD board to discuss DFCs, five-year review

Creative Memories Quilt Guild to hold youth camp

The Creative Memories Quilt Guild is hosting a youth camp to nurture the skills and creativity of young sewing enthusiasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 18-20 at the Caldwell Methodist Church.
