Two charged in drug possession after chase

A man and a woman were arrested early Saturday, Jan. 25, on multiple drug charges following a high-speed pursuit along State Highway 21 West and ending at the intersection of County Roads 106 and 110.

Snook OKs timelines for property upgrades

The Snook City Council has approved a plan that will allow the owners of two properties on County Road 267 time to upgrade substandard homes and clean the properties.In addition, the owners have agreed to demolish a third property on County Road 267.The council unanimously agreed at its Monday, Jan.

School board, city filings underway

Filing for the May 3 school trustee and city council elections began Wednesday, Jan. 15.Filing will continue until Friday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m.For Caldwell School Board, three seats are up for election -- those currently held by Matt Hicks, Krista Zwernemann and Vicki Ochs.

Caldwell Council meeting, public hearing postponed

The Caldwell City Council meeting originally scheduled for Jan. 21 has been postponed to Tuesday, Jan. 28, due to winter weather.The council is scheduled to meet in a regular meeting and in workshop session to address various issues relating to ordinances and development.

County sales tax revenues show increases in January

Sales tax revenues showed an increase for January 2025 from January 2024 for Burleson County in Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s latest monthly report.However, the cities of Snook and Somerville showed decreases, according to the comptroller.
