USPS passport fairThe United States Postal Service is holding a passport fair on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Caldwell Post Office, located at 201 North Main Street in Caldwell.Apply for a new passport or passport card. Walk-ins are welcome.

Dig in to summer reading

The Harrie P. Woodson Memorial Library in Caldwell will kick off its annual summer reading program with a party on Monday, June 8, at the Caldwell Civic Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m.The kick-off event is open to anyone, with the summer reading program open to children ages 0-18.

Colt project workout set for Wed., June 10

The Burleson County Fair Association will be hosting a colt project workout for participants in this year’s 4-H Colt Project and their parents on Wednesday, June 10, at the Buddy and Edile Lightsey Arena in Caldwell at 6 p.m.

Miller warns of New World Screwworm: “This is not a drill”

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today issued the following statement following confirmation of the northern-most New World screwworm detection in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, only 90 miles from the U.S.Mexico border: “The New World screwworm is not some distant problem.

Main Street seeking more public participation

Caldwell’s Main Street program could use more volunteers for planning and organization and more input from business and property owners.That kind of input will drive, and hopefully accelerate, their long-term goals, members say.
