Paxton wins big in area runoff vote

There were several races featured in last Tuesday’s primary runoff election, but only 12.88% of the county’s 1,812 registered voters submitted ballots to determine who will run in the November general election.

Local baker Dannille Knowlton hosted a bake sale benefitting Haven Animal Rescue of Texas (HART) at the Caldwell Civic Center parking lot on Saturday, May 23.Knowlton said she heard of the organization’s fundraising need in building its new facility and wanted to do what she could to help out.

ACat Springs man was arrested on Friday, May 22, at Lake Somerville on a charge of boating while intoxicated with a child passenger.John Charles Rabius was charged with the state jail felony and is now free on $3,500 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
