Texas well owner network classThe Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District is hosting a free Texas well owner network class at the Burleson County Expo Center on March 12 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Caldwell Rotary Club celebrates 91 years

The Rotary Club of Caldwell is commemorating its 91st anniversary as a service club, serving with distinction and reflecting the motto of Rotary International: “Service Above Self.”The first regular meeting was held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1935, in the basement of First Baptist Church of Caldwell.

Woman dies in SH 36 crash

A College Station woman died early Saturday, March 7, after driving her SUV into the back of a parked, flat-bed 18-wheeler on the shoulder off State Highway 36 about five miles south of Caldwell.Erin Dietrich, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene by Burleson County Pct.

Public meeting set for Hazard Mitigation Plan

Burleson County will hold a public meeting to gather public input for its Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP) on Thursday, March 12, at the Burleson County Extension Office on F.M. 166.The meeting will be held from 5-6 p.m.

Power outage occurs during line replacement

Residents in central Caldwell and the downtown area experienced an electric power outage on Monday morning for about 40 minutes during a replacement of an old electrical line with a new line.

Sheriff warns citizens to avoid telephone scams

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents to a fraudulent scheme involving a man claiming to be with the sheriff’s office and seeking money.A call was made to a county resident on Saturday, Feb.

Intentional fires set along CR 415, PR 4

Burleson County Environmental Investigator Jody Tillery is searching for a man who used a device attached to his pickup truck exhaust to intentionally shoot flames along the roadway on Sunday, March 1, on County Road 415 and onto Park Road 4.

Woman charged in assault case

A 44-year-old Snook woman was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 26, on a felony assault charge in connection with an incident involving a 16-year-old boy.Rachel Renee Groce was charged and is now free on $7,500 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.The incident occurred on Saturday, Feb.
