Even in a graduation class of over 1,000 students, the uniqueness of Somerville’s graduation on Friday at Yegua Stadium would stand out.In a graduation class of 40 seniors, having two sets of twins is very unique.

Clay shoot fundraiserThe Caldwell Early Evening Lions Club is hosting its annual sporting clay shoot on Saturday, May 30, at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shooting Range in Snook.Registration and a light breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. with shooting starting at 9 a.m. Lunch will follow the shoot.

A 16-year-old Somerville area girl remained missing for an eighth consecutive day on Tuesday, May 26, and Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating and continuing their search.

President Abraham Lincoln once wrote to a mother who lost multiple sons in the Civil War, trying to find any words of comfort.In that letter, he referred to “the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice on the altar of freedom.”Burleson County also knows a lot about that.
