The Caldwell City Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 18, to consider a finance contract for an Automated Utility Meter Retrofit project.The contract will be for an advanced metering infrastructure for a term of seven years.The contract is with Government Capital Corp., of Southlake.

Man charged in DWI with child

A Caldwell man was arrested on Sunday night, June 16, on felony charge of DWI with a child passenger after a Caldwell police traffic stop on State Highway 36 North.Kelvin M. Lopez was charged and is now free on $4,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Burleson County Grand jury returns 21 felony indictments

The Burleson County Grand Jury met in regular session on Thursday, May 16, and returned 21 felony indictments.Only the names of those arrested are released and include: * Synthea Dashone Arms, 33, of Caldwell; manufacture or delivery of controlled substance PG 1 >=4G<200G-fiirstdegree felony.

Man charged in child indecency

A Bryan man was arrested on Wednesday, June 12, on an indecency with a child warrant in connection with a Burleson County case.Jose Alfredo Rios Jr., 35, was charged and is now free on $50,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

County sales tax revenues show decrease in June

Sales tax revenues showed a decrease for June 2024 from June 2023 for Burleson County in Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s latest monthly report.However, all three cities also showed increases.The report was based on sales made in April by businesses that report monthly.
