Nursing home files response to family’s lawsuit

Attorneys for Burleson St. Joseph Manor nursing home in Caldwell have filed an initial response to a lawsuit against them alleging medical negligence in the 2022 death of Mildred J. Page. The nursing home is denying the family’s allegations and demanding a jury trial.

A single wide trailer home burned down late Sunday, April 7, off F.M. 908 in the Cade Lake area, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.One man was inside the home but got out safely without injury, said Cade Lake Fire Chief David Pevehouse.

Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the recent theft of a goose neck trailer from a home on F.M. 166.The theft was reported on Thursday, April 4, at 12:12 p.m., and a deputy responded to the 14000 block of F.M. 166 to investigate, said Burleson County Chief Deputy Bill Rios.
