Chilifest 2024 hits the right note in Burleson County

Burleson County’s largest annual music event has come to an end.After performances Saturday, stages began to be dismantled, businesses were packing up and cleanup operations were underway.

The Burleson County Chamber of Commerce honored Johnny Price Jr., as its Man of the Year, Ann Sebesta as Woman of the Year, and Somerville City Administrator Danny Segundo as its Advocate of the Year at its annual chamber banquet on Thursday, April 4, at the Green Palace.

Burleson County Commissioners have rejected a replat application to subdivide property on Beaver Lake Drive in Beaver Creek Subdivision after hearing objections from local residents, Clay and Macarena Korth were seeking a replat to subdivide an 14.

Man charged in endangerment of 5-year-old child

A Somerville area man was arrested on Friday, March 29, on a felony endangering a child charge in connection with a 5-year-old boy seen walking on F.M. 1361.George Marvin Easley 63, was charged with child endangerment and is now free on $7,500 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
