Caldwell eyes lease option for new fire truck

The Caldwell City Council is considering a first-time ever lease to own agreement to replace its aging 1996 pumper-engine fire truck.The council discussed that plan at its Tuesday, March 19, meeting and authorized City Administrator Camden White to move forward with the purchase.

Murder trial date reset for Hawkins

A trial date has been reset to Oct. 15 for a Snook man charged with murder in the March 2, 2022 double fatality accident following a DPS pursuit in Snook.A pre-trial hearing was held on Monday, March 25, for Frederick Lamont Hawkins, 20, and the original April trial date was reset to Oct. 15.

Recommendations offered for city hall, streets in Somerville

The Somerville City Council has received a standing committee’s recommendation for construction of a new 4,500 square foot city hall at a cost of $900,000.The council accepted their report at their Tuesday, March 19, meeting, but no council action was taken at that time.
