Texas beef herd signals higher prices ahead for producers and consumers

The latest U.S. Department of Agriculture cattle inventory report delivered another clear signal that the U.S. beef herd has yet to turn the corner, and Texas remains central to the story, said Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts.

Narro named District 9 Extension Rising Star

Burleson County’s Family & Community Health Extension Agent Holly Narro was named the district’s Rising Star Award Winner through the Texas A&M Agri Life Extension Employee program.

Lions Club Denim, Dinner, Dancing Gala set for Feb. 28

The Caldwell Burleson County Lions Club will host its fifth annual Denim, Dinner and Dancing Gala on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Caldwell Civic Center.The event will begin at 6 p.m. with social hour, with dinner served at 7 p.m. followed by dancing and both a silent and live auction.

Hospital board to rebid ER project

The Burleson County Hospital District Board of Directors has approved rebidding their emergency room renovation project.The board uanimously approved the rebidding at their Monday, Feb. 9, meeting with a goal of awarding a contract and beginning construction this year.

Area man charged in possession of child pornography

A College Station man was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 3, on a possession of child pornography charge following a Burleson County Sheriff’s Office investigation.Patrick Leif Stackhouse, 20, was charged and is now free on $50,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
