Two injured in pickup-car wreck on F.M. 60 East

Two persons were injured and transported to a Bryan hospital after a Friday, Dec. 5, pickup-car accident at the F.M. 50 and F.M. 60 intersection.The accident occurred at about noon when Kenneth D. Matcek, 64, of Caldwell, was southwest bound on F.M.

Man charged in assaulting woman

A 30-year-old Caldwell area man was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 6, on a felony assault charge after a Wednesday night, Dec. 3, attack on a woman on County Road 140.Tyler Jay Lehman was charged and is now free on $10,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies probe case of shots fired

A resident in the 300 block of F.M. 60 West reported three gunshots fired from the road on the night of Tuesday, Dec. 2.Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the case as a felony deadly conduct, but no one has been found or arrested, said Sheriff Bill Rios.

Man dies while driving along F.M. 60 East

A Bryan man died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 7, while driving a pickup on F.M. 60 East just east of F.M. 3058 and veered off the roadway through a fence and into a wooded area.The accident occurred at 4:19 p.m. when Alfonso Reyes-Teran, 46, was traveling westbound on F.M.

Stolen purse case investigated

Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a purse stolen from a woman’s vehicle on Nov. 29 at the Hitching Post bar on State Highway 21 West and F.M. 696.A woman said she went inside at 10 p.m. and came out at 10:45 p.m. to use an inhaler in her purse, according to Sheriff Bill Rios.
