Caldwell man arrested in bond forfeiture case

A 55-year-old, Caldwell man was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 7, in Caldwell on a bond forfeiture warrant from the Burleson County Attorney’s Office.Lorenzo Mason was arrested following an indictment and remains in Burleson County custody with no bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Caldwell plans to hire city secretary

The Caldwell City Council was scheduled to hire a new city secretary at a called meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9.The council was to first meet in executive session and then reconvene into open session to make a selection, City Administrator Camden White said.

The Somerville City Council was scheduled to approve the 2025-26 budget of $3,581,057 and a tax rate of 74.116 cents at its Tuesday, Sept. 9, meeting.A public hearing was also scheduled on both issues prior to the vote.The tax rate is 7.402 cents per $100 valuation above the 2024-25 rate -- 0.
