    Caldwell Hornet tennis standout Connor Hughson placed third in boys’ singles last week at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 3A Region III Tennis Tournament.

    The tournament was held at A&M Consolidated High School.

    In the first round, he defeated Ivan Rodriguez of Tarkington 6-3, 6-1, and then beat Cody Kramr of East Benard in the quaterfinals 6-0, 6-0.
