The Lady Hornet JV basketball team lost their district opener on Dec. 13 to Smithville on the road 22-21.
Caldwell was up by 10-6 going into halftime, but the Lady Tigers came out in the second half with an aggressive defense and were able to maintain pressure through the end of the third quarter, tying the score at 16-16.
