Lightning strike suspected as likely cause
A fire originating in the attic/roof area of a home last Thursday, July 18, on County Road 100 resulted in extensive damage to the rest of the home.
The fire was likely started by a lightning strike, and family members were not home, although two of their cats perished in the blaze, said Caldwell Fire Chief David Pevehouse.
