Sheriff Bill Rios requested a $130,000 budget increase from the county to fund a $2/hour increase in pay for deputies, a dispatch supervisor and an administrative assistant at the Monday, Aug. 24 commissioners court meeting.
Rios said the money he would like to use for raises is currently budgeted as part of the department’s capital outlay and “earmarked for a new dispatch and property room.”
