Archie Raymond Kubena

Archie Raymond Kubena was born in Houston, to Eugene and Mary Prazak Kubena on November 18, 1960.

He left this world on February 28, 2025.

Archie was a loving Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

While growing up on his family’s farm, he learned the value of hard work during his childhood.

He took great interest in raising cattle alongside his Dad and big brother, which resulted in this becoming a life passion of his. And he was great at it, as his cattle showed that. His love and dedication for his cattle shined through in his daily routine.

More often than not, you would find him, with his dog, Dusty aka Red, riding around on his side by side checking the fence lines of the property, as well as his beloved cattle.

Archie was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed everything related to the outdoors, from ranching to hunting to fishing. During hunting season, you knew not to call during “hunting hours” as you would only get his voicemail. Also, don’t ask him why he didn’t answer because you would probably get an answer you didn’t want to hear.

Archie also loved to barbecue. From building homemade barbecue pits to buying an extravagant pit from his hospital bed a few years back, you could always count on him having something smoking in a pit. He always made sure there was something tasty to eat.

Archie had a loving heart, stubborn as a goat, but always willing to help you with whatever the need was.

During the last few years, his illness had progressed, and he wasn’t able to physically do the things he wanted and that was hard on him.

And to add in the mix, just two years prior, he had lost his best friend/brother, Mike, and that devastated him.

This is where his ‘stubbornness’ came in handy. He is the strongest man we know, he fought hard and long giving us two more years with him.

Archie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Eugene and Mary Kubena; brother, Mike Kubena; uncle, Albert Jiral; and aunt, Justine Jiral.

He is survived by his sister, Judy Mittelstaedt (Randy); nieces, Kara Guerrero (Charles), Meagan Fitzpatrick (Keith); nephew, Trevor Kubena (Brittney); great-nieces, Adalyn “Addy” Fitzpatrick, Maci Fitzpatrick and Kaisley Kubena; greatnephews, Clayton Hughes and Hagen Hughes; special cousin, Glenn Jiral (Arianne); and his companion, Red Dog; as well as numerous friends and relatives.
