Billy Eugene Hamilton, 73, of Iola, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday May 25, 2023. He departed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family.
Billy was born August 26,1949, in Bryan, Texas, to Lee and Erma Hamilton. He was one of five children.
After serving in theArmy as a Military Policeman, he met his future wife and love of his life, Vicki Lynn Zajac. Billy was in the hospital being treated for a bad back and flirting with his nurse who was Vicki’s best friend. Vicki set him straight and they were married two years later on June 25,1976, in Bryan, Texas, at the Church of the Nazarene. To this union came two children, Korey Eileen and Lee Zajac.
Billy loved the Lord, and his faith and values for hard work, dedication, and family were evident in his daily life.
He loved singing, playing the guitar, writing music and poetry, reading, action movies, Dallas Cowboy football, and big cheeseburgers, but more than anything, he wanted to help and make sure people never felt alone, and win, lose or draw, he would always have your back.
His family is grateful for the love and guidance he offered, and the example he set.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Lynn Zajac Hamilton; parents, Lee and Erma Hamilton; brother, Carlton Lee Hamilton; and one grandchild, Simon-Peter.
He is survived by his children, Korey and her husband, Mark, Lee and his wife, Destiny; his grandchildren, Brooke, Rachael and her husband, Mason, Madison, Abigail, Matthew, Joshua, Daniel, Kierston, Allyson, Russell, Gideon, and Ezekiel; his siblings, Vicky, Yvonne, and Patsy.
A memorial will be held in his honor later this year at First Baptist Church of College Station.
