A Mass of Christian Burial for Consuelo “Connie” Moreno, 70, of Somerville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 2021, at St. Ann’s Catholi Church in Somerville.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday Feb. 5, 2021, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. A second visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb 6, 2021, with a Rosary recited at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Moreno died on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021.
Consuelo was born on July 19, 1950, in Houston to Pablo Roman and Ygnacia Villegas.
She worked for Fort Bend ISD for 28 years before retiring.
Connie loved to listen to Tejano music and dance.
She was quite often the life of the party with her infectious smile and loving personality.
Connie adored her family and would always cook huge family meals for get togethers.
She enjoyed going to visit friends and family and taking trips to San Antonio for Fan Fest.
Connie was also an avid Houston Texans fan.
In her spare time she gave herself as a caregiver to many. Connie was something special that made you believe in angels on earth. She will be missed by all who knew her, family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo Roman and Ygnacia Villegas; her brother, Joe Roman; her sister, Angelita Shelly; and her “Sweetie,” Baldemar Longoria.
Connie is survived by her sons, Jess Vasquez and wife, Margaret, Benson Vasquez, and Jesse Marino Jr.; her daughter, Jessica Moreno and husband, Rene; her brothers, Mike Roman, and Raymond Roman and wife, Gloria; her sisters; Gloria Roman, and Dolores Cantu; her grandchildren, Toni Moreno, Jerrett Morales II, Adam Morales, Miranda Vasquez, Nicholas Vasquez, Andrew Vasquez, Jesse Moreno III, Justin Moreno, Alyssa Moreno, and Vanessa Moreno; her great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Morales, Adam Morales II, Natalie Pharr, Melanie Saldana, Jhenavieve Moreno, Jesse Moreno IV, Nadia Moreno, Justin Moreno Jr., Jeremiah Moreno, and Avery Martinez; a baby on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are her grandsons.
