Visitation for James Larry Bills, 76, of Caldwell, was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at the Caldwell First United Methodist in the Fellowship Hall.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2021, at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
Military Honors were performed at the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Bills died on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.
James Larry Bills was born in Caldwell, on Feb. 10, 1945, to Clingman Bills and Mamie (Weber) Bills.
Larry went to Caldwell High School and enlisted to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Larry was injured during his time in the service and was Honorably Discharged.
He stayed very active in Caldwell, patrolling the streets and letting everyone know who passed.
Larry enjoyed to collect things and play the scratchers.
He was a member of the Caldwell VWF Post No. 4458 and the American Legion Post No. 451. He also helped out and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post No. 200 in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clingman Bills and Mamie (Weber) Bills; brother, Gerald Bills; sister, Patsy Bryant; and brother, Donald Bills.
Larry is survived by two brothers, Michael Bills, and John Bills and wife, Terrie; a sister-in-law, Anna Bills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Clint A. Bills, Clint “C.J.” Bills, Michael Colley, Charlie Langham, and Allen Bills.
