James Joseph Vavra, 62, of Caldwell, was born March 26, 1960, in Cameron, Texas, to James Joe and Bobbie Vavra.
He worked as a diesel mechanic and road construction.
In his younger years, James really enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was the best Pepaw to his seven grandkids: Dakoda, Rylei, Liam, Zaylyn, Ava, Jaiden and Zachary. Whenever he saw his grandbabies, he made sure he had money to give them.
His children will remember their dad as a man of few words, a man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. If you needed him, he would be there.
He died peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
He is survived by two daughters; one son; one brother; and seven grandchildren.
