Jerry Wayne Grant

Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Grant, 78, of Caldwell, were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Cooks Point Methodist Church.

Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. before the service at the church.

Burial followed at the Cooks Point Methodist Cemetery.

Mr. Grant died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, in College Station.

Jerry Wayne Grant was born in Hill County, Texas, on Dec. 13, 1942, to Perry D. Grant and Geneva (Diggs) Grant.

He graduated from Deer Park High School and served in the U.S. Army.

Jerry was the maintenance foreman in charge of the co-gen plant at Diamond/Oxy, Deer Park.

He was a joy to be around and always had a smile or a funny face to make you laugh, family members said.

Jerry enjoyed his land and he tried to grow just about everything on it.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Perry and Geneva Grant; brothers, James Grant and Charles Grant; and sister, Nelda Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Linda Grant; a daughter, Heidi Roe and husband, Steve; a son, Patrick Grant and wife, Keira; grandchildren, Brandi O’Daniel and husband, David, Matthew Grant, Michael Hogan, and Nicole Hogan; great-grandchildren, Jakob O’Daniel and Britni O’Daniel; and brothers, Kenneth Grant and wife, Peggy, Warren Grant and wife, Iva, and Perry Donald Grant and wife, Iva; and sister-in-law, Patricia Grant.
