An honor guard ceremony for Kim Howard Lindley, aka ‘Kimchi’, 65, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Hix Cemetery, located at 10822 F.M. 2000.
Mr. Lindley died on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at his home in Corpus Christi.
Kim was born in Waco, and as a military ‘brat’, spent his childhood in Germany and numerous states across America.
He graduated from Caldwell High School, then proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.
He served in Korea for a year of that time, where he adopted his nickname ‘Kimchi’ from his favorite local dish.
Then, he worked at onshore and offshore drilling rigs in the oilfield industry, followed by welding and construction.
After retiring in Corpus Christi, he was a volunteer with the American Red Cross during Hurricane Harvey and enjoyed helping homeless veterans.
Kim was an avid outdoorsman, competed in motocross racing and loved hunting and camping.
He could usually be found with a fishing pole in his hand at Lake Somerville, the little Brazos River, or on the Gulf Coast wading shoulder deep for sharks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delores Smith Lindley and LV (Larry) Lindley; his brother, Dusty; and his daughter, Traci.
Kim is survived by his sister, Jan McDonald; two daughters, Angie Lindley and Cassie Corgey; his son, Casey Lindley; and seven grandchildren, Caleb, Ila, Ike, Austen, Alaeha, Brionna, and Josh.
