Lillie Mae (Sefcik) Wright was born May 24, 1924, and passed away July 30, 2024, at the age of 100.
Lillie Mae was born in Caldwell, to Joe V. and Albina A. Sefcik.
She married Leonard C. Wright from Hartwick, New York, in February 1946.
She met Leonard in Austin when he returned from service in Germany during World War II.
They moved to the Wright Family Farm to settle and start their family.
Lillie Mae and Leonard eventually became independent dealers for John Deere and established Wright’s Farm Supply, which they owned and operated until 1989.
During the 1950s, Lillie Mae was a door-to-door census taker.
She then took a full-time job in 1960s with Key Bank Branch, located in Hartwick, New York. She retired from Key Bank after 30 years.
Lillie Mae was active in her community. She volunteered with the Boy Scouts, 4-H, Hartwick United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxillary for the Hartwick Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years, Leonard C. Wright; her parents, Joe V and Albina A. Sefcik; and her sister, Doris (Sefcik) Hovorak.
She is survived by her two children, Alan L. Wright of Marquez, and Patricia L. (Peter) Nickel of Glens Fall, New York, and Brooksville, Florida. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Lillie will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
