PATRICIA BUDNIK HOLCOMB

Patricia Holcomb, 74, of Caldwell, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

A public visitation was held in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell, on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.

A Funeral Mass was held in her honor at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Patricia Budnik was born on October 31, 1949, to Alfonse and Annie Budnik in Bryan.

She grew up in Caldwell with her three brothers, Alfonse, Stanley and Billy, and her sister, Mary.

Patricia attended school in Deanville, and Caldwell, when she met a young veterinary student from Texas A&M. They fell in love and were mar-ried in 1967 before he entered military service. The couple eventually settled in Corpus Christi where Patricia lived for 27 years.

Patricia was active in school and church activities, but her passion was always gardening. She grew every kind of vegetable and pretty flower imaginable at one time or another. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Garden Club, even winning ‘Yard of the Month’ honors.

Patricia was a devoted wife and loving mother to her three sons, Johnny, Richard and Robert.

The family of five had many cherished vacations around the country and outdoor weekend adventures.

Patricia was one of the most caring individuals you could ever meet, without a mean or malicious bone in her body.

She always loved and put her boys first.

She loved the simple pleasures in life, spending time with her family and friends.

After her divorce in 1996, she lived briefly in George West where she met Alfred Henicke.

Patricia moved back to Caldwell in 1999 to be near her family.

Alfred became her companion, partner, and caregiver for the next 25 years.

The couple continued to garden and sell vegetables at the farmer’s market in Caldwell for many years.

Unfortunately, Alfred suddenly passed away at the end of November 2023, and Patricia was never able to fully recover from the loss of his companionship and care. Patricia is survived by her oldest son, Johnny who lives near McDade, by her second son, Richard and his wife, Michelle, from Boerne with their two children, Shaelly Grace and Jack Andrew, and by her youngest son, Robert and his wife, Johnene, with their three girls, Kennedy Anne, Presley Cate, and Landry Elizabeth, also from Boerne.

Patricia enjoyed her peaceful life on a small rural track of land near Cooks Point. Her family joked that you could see her place from space because it was the little bright green square among all the brown pastures. Today, she surely enjoys that view from Heaven. Patricia’s beautiful smile and kind heart will be forever missed.
