Funeral services for Raymond Fred Loehr, 90, of Caldwell, will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Pastor Frank Coats presided over services.
Burial will follow at the family cemetery.
Mr. Loehr died peacefully in his home on Friday, July 9, 2021.
Raymond was born on April 23, 1931, to William and Alma Loehr of Caldwell.
He spent many years farming and ranching in the Brazos River Bottom and raised his family in this community.
He liked to spend his days watching his cows and visiting hummingbirds, riding his gator, playing dominoes, checking on crops, ice cream runs, and checking his rain gauge.
Gardening and hay baling were his passions, but his true love was spending time with his family and loved ones.
He was the patriarch of the family and taught them all about the value of a dollar and what an honest day of work was.
Being a man of faith, man of honor and honesty, his family was blessed to have him in their lives, providing them with all the wisdom and knowledge he shared.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Loehr; his siblings, Elsie Loehr, William Loehr, Ruby Steck, Gertrude Spittler, Franklin Loehr, Andrew Loehr, and Carrie Hughes; and his beloved son, Gerald R. Loehr.
Raymond is survived by his son, Michael B. Loehr; his sister, Hilda Weeber; his grandchildren, Bobby Loehr and wife, Molly, Megan and husband, Steve Martin, Timothy Loehr, Lindsey Loehr, and Lauren Couch and husband, Landon; his great-grandchildren, Tristan Martin, Macy Martin, Madolyn Loehr, Dyllan Loehr, Jack Loehr, Karsyn Loehr, and Baby Couch; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, which he loved dearly.
Pallbearers are Bobby Loehr, Cody Loehr, Timothy Loehr, Steven Martin, Landon Couch, and Keith Weeber.
Honorary pallbearers are Tristan Martin, Dyllan Loehr, Jack Loehr, Kersyn Loehr, Preston Loehr, and Sonny Schoeneman.
