Robert Dean Tucker, 79, of Caldwell, died on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at home in Burleson County with his loving family by his side.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Burleson County Cowboy Church.
Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell.
Robert was born on August 31, 1946, in Pasadena, to Clyde and Laura Tucker.
Robert graduated from Galena Park High School in Houston, before enlisting in the Marine Corps and fighting in the Vietnam War.
Honorably discharged, he returned to Houston and met his wife, Mary Ann Lawson. They married on December 20, 1969.
They moved to Bryan in 1971 so he could attend Texas A&M University.
Robert worked as a Police officer for the Texas A&M University Police Department before joining the Bryan Fire Department in 1973.
He graduated from Texas A&M University in May 1981.
Robert achieved the rank of Deputy Chief before retiring from the Bryan Fire Department with 30 years of service in 2003.
After retiring he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, gunsmithing and working on his classic Mustang.
One of his greatest achievements was being a Papa to his grand and great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Laura Tucker; brother, Clyde Wayne Tucker; brothers-in-law, Lynn Lawson, Wilmer Lawson, Tommy Lawson, John Williams, CW Botkin and C. Boudreaux; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Lawson Langley and Geraldine Lawson Overton.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary; his daughters, Jennifer, Kathy, and Lauree Kyrie; son-inlaw, Bubba Hamm; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren with one more on the way.
Robert is also survived by his sisters, Norma Williams, Dollie Williams and Cindy Botkin; brothers, James (Jodie) and Larry (Linda); brother-in-law, Robert (Dianne); sisters-in-law, Louise Boudreaux, Margaret (Huey) Denman, Linda Lawson, Bertha Lawson.
He is also survived by numerous extended family.
