ROY GREEN

A Celebration of Life honoring Roy will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at The American Legion Hall in Giddings, Texas, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations can be made in Roy’s name to the Frost Methodist Church or the Frost Cemetery Association in Frost, Texas.

Adios! Those who knew Roy Green best knew his signature departure declaration well and continue celebrating his life despite his untimely leave from the party he believed life to be.

Roy Edward Green began his next great adventure at his home on Monday, May 10, 2021, doing exactly what he loved best: admiring his freshly mowed lawn, a cold beer and Ms. Dalia’s liver and onions, after socializing with Cyndi and Jimmy Dan and having picked up plants for his wife, Maria.

Born December 23, 1951, in Corsicana, Texas, Roy was a son of Frost, Texas, and was a proud Frost Polar Bear.

He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

As an educator, Roy served countless children in Texas public schools through teaching, coaching, then advancing to Principal and Superintendent for 25 years.

Roy continued in his pursuit to support education and educators state wide during his service with the Texas Education Agency for 10 years, preceding his retirement.

Roy is survived by his wife, Maria Green (her daughter, Brittney); his children and grandchildren, Ben Green (son, James), Sally Bitner (husband, Darrin, and son, Billy Mack); family and special friends too numerous to list, but not forgotten.

Roy is reunited with his parents, Bobbie Jean and Marion R. Green; and his brother, Rickey Green.

The Green family is comforted in their knowledge of the Heavenly family reunion now underway.
