Teddy Hansard, 80, of Caldwell, passed away in a car accident on August 1, 2026, in Rockdale.
A memorial service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church in Caldwell on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Born on January 30, 1946, in Brady, to Lionel Keith Agar Clements Hansard and Mary Catherine Watson Hansard, he was a star athlete in high school, served with honor in the Army and enjoyed a life-long career as a skilled carpenter.
He retired from Le-Tourneau University in Longview, after working in various roles in their maintenance department for over 20 years.
He was a devout follower of Jesus, and served his church and community faithfully and selflessly, whether it was by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, working with the children and youth ministries, leading Sunday services and calling bingo at the local nursing home, leading college student mission trips at LeTourneau or just helping out friends, family and neighbors with building and repair projects.
Teddy is survived by his beloved wife, Marion; his daughters, Jean Stanford (Ronald) and Elisabeth Hansard (Micheal Singleton); his grandchildren, Andrew Bonham, Michael Bonham, Mary Askey (Ben), and Chloe Turney (Collin); and great-grandchildren, Marcellus Askey and one Turney on the way; along with many other family members and friends who will all miss him very much.
Teddy was a joy and shone brightly the light of Jesus. His deep love of the Lord and his fellow man, his sense of humor and fun, and his wisdom were a gift to all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to his memorial service at Calvary Baptist Church on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 am, with a potluck lunch in the church gym to follow. Teddy certainly did enjoy a good potluck.
