Timothy Lee Boyce passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in Somerville, Texas. Visitation was held Saturday, May 21, 2022, 5-7 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Funeral Service was held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home. Interment followed at Oaklawn cemetery in Somerville, Texas.
Timothy was born February 14, 1958, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Mary Alice Varian. He was raised with his maternal grandparents.
After Tim graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, he served his country in the United States Army. He received the good conduct medal, Army service ribbon, driver and mechanic badge, and he was an expert in hand grenade and rifle marksman. When he departed from the U.S. Army, his rank was an SP4 specialist.
Tim had a great sense of humor and loved sharing his stories with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed playing sand volleyball, darts, swimming, and loved listening to his 80’s music. He spent evenings sitting on the front porch drinking beer and hanging out with his dog Kozmo. Tim was happiest when he spent time with family and friends, and he cherished the time spent with his beloved wife Alice Boyce of 39 years. Tim had a kind heart and would do anything for his kids and grandkids.
Timothy will be missed by all who knew him.
Timothy is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Knox, wife, Alice Boyce, brothers-in-law Ken Gibson and Lloyd Lane.
Tim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons, Don Boyce and Timothy Boyce II, and wife, Gina. His daughters Rhonda Pineda and Pamela Gentry; his brothers, Lee and Wade Holdshoe; his sister, Amy Jenkins, sisters-in-law, Linda Lane and Darlene Gibson. His 11 grandchildren, Brook Gober, Jasmine Boyce, Brandon Gober, Victoria Boyce, Brett Gober, Clayton Brinkman, Cameron Boyce, Makayla Gentry, Kaleb Boyce, Aria Boyce, and Jose Pineda. Three great-grandchildren, Elena Brumley, Isaias Lopez, and Genesis Lopez. His dog Kozmo.
Pallbearers were Lee Holdshoe, Jim Dunn, Josh Brinkman, Brandon Gober, Brian Horsley, and William Gober.
Honorary Pallbearers were Clayton Brinkman, Brett Gober, Kaleb Boyce, and Cameron Boyce.
