Walter John Rubach, Jr.

Walter John Rubach, Jr., 87, of Snook, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Snook Cemetery in Snook, on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Walter was born on Saturday, October 16, 1937, in Snook.

He was the oldest of three born to Mr. Walter John Rubach, Sr. and Lydia Marie Rubach (Pecal) in Snook.

Walter grew up farming and loved the land.

He was known for his love of people and of course, hunting and fishing.

Walter graduated from Snook High School and went on to Blinn College, followed by Sam Houston State where he majored in Education. He taught school in Snook, teaching science and driver’s education.

He loved his community and was not only a dedicated educator but a loyal friend and neighbor. He was kind and generous to all who knew him.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Walter Maas.

He is survived by his brother, Dr. Alton Rubach; and sister, Linda (Rubach) Maas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews as well as devoted friends.

The family would like to thank Luminous Hospice for their care during his last days.
