WILLENE SNODGRASS

Willene Snodgrass passed away on January 2, 2025, after a brief illness.

A visitation was held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home.

The burial followed the service at Prairie Dale Cemetery.

Willene was born on January 21, 1947, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to William and Amanda Gentry.

She graduated from Carlsbad High School and attended Draughns Business College in Lubbock, to prepare for a career as a secretary.

Willene married Mike Snodgrass on August 26, 1967. They moved to Pasadena, in 1969 for Mike’s career.

Willene and Mike have two sons, Scott (1974) and Ryan (1977).

After the boys were grown, they moved to acreage near Caldwell in 2001.

Willene dedicated seven years to caring for her mother after her mother became disabled. She ensured that her mother was taken care of everyday in the proper manner.

Willene was a grandkid lover and an animal lover. She got great joy out of playing, working and teaching her grandchildren. Dogs, horses and even cats of hers were treated like royalty.

As a young teen, Willene was baptized and became a member of the Church of Christ. Upon moving to Caldwell, Willene placed her membership with the Caldwell Church of Christ, where she worked as a youth teacher in Sunday school and participated in many activities supporting the church.

Willene was preceded in death by her parents; her Willene Snodgrass passed away on January 2, 2025, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mike Snodgrass; their two sons, Scott and wife, Colleen, and Ryan and wife, Patricia; sister, Charlene St. John and her son, Lance St. John; grandchildren, Preslee, Baylee, Bradlee, Mallee, Dylan, Jonathan, Nicholas, Nathan and Jocelyn; and many more nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Preslee Snodgrass, Bradlee Snodgrass, Dean Belote, KC Callison, Kenneth Moore, and Jonathan Manzano.

Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Manzano, Nicholas Manzano and Dylan Baldwin.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Central Texas Children’s Home in Buda.
