With Hope Savage’s upset girls’ singles victory over the Number 1 ranked Smithville player, the Caldwell tennis team clinches second place in District 20-4A.
Caldwell beat Smithville 10-9 in La Grange last Saturday.
Savage beat Monica Lewis 7-5, 7-5 to set up Alejandro Zapata’s boys’ singles match to clinch the victory.
Zapata then beat Achiles Brian 6-0, 6-2 for the 10-9 Caldwell win.
