CHS girls take 3rd, boys 4th at Navasota Tourney

The Caldwell Lady Hornets golf team placed third and the Hornets placed fourth on Feb. 23 at the Navasota Tournament at Pecan Lakes Country Club.The tournament was a preview of the district tournament scheduled for March 23-24 at that location.

Polasek earns bronze at regional powerlifting

Caldwell’s Miranda Polasek placed third at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association’s (THSWPA) Region 2 Class 4A Small Meet at Dublin last Friday.Polasek lifted a total of 860 pounds -- 360 in the squat, 175 in the bench press and 325 in the dead lift in the 220-pound weight class.

Lady Hornets go 4-2 at Seguin Tournament

The Lady Hornets were 4-2 last week in the Seguin Softball Tournament.In their first tournament game on Thursday, the Lady Hornets earned a “W” behind Samone Clark’s two home run game -- homering in the first and sixth inning with two RBIs.

The Snook Bluejays fell to Bellville Faith Academy 12-1 on Friday, Feb. 27, at home in a rematch of a 14-8 loss on Feb. 20.Snook fell to 0-3 for the season.

The Caldwell Hornets defeated Bridge City, Bastrop, Gateway College Prep, and Cameron Yoe last week at the Cameron Tournament.The wins improved Caldwell’s record to 4-4-1.Caldwell defeated Bridge City 1-0, holding the state’s number 3 team in 4A to no hits, and Bastrop 9-6 on Friday, Feb.
