Two Somerville players and two Snook players recently earned District 26-2A All-District baseball honors. Somerville senior Riley Eldridge made second team infield, and freshman Gardner Shivers made second team outfield.

Saturday at the newly named Mike Myers Memorial Shooting Complex, Burleson County 4-H Shooting Sports held its inaugural Mike Myers Memorial Shoot in memory of longtime shooting coach Mike Myers.

Hornet basketball camp set for July 19

The Caldwell Hornet coaching staff will hold its annual basketball camps on Monday, July 19, through Thursday, July 22, at the new high school gym. Incoming sixth through ninth-graders will meet for camp from 10 a.m until 12:30 p.m.

Little Yeguas vball skills camp begins next week

The “Little Lady Yeguas Days” volleyball skills camp for incoming second through sixth-graders begins next week. The camp runs June 21, 28 and 29 from 1-3 p.m. The cost is free. Parents may register their Little Lady Yegua on the first day of camp, June 21.

CALDWELL’S DORIS Hieden went undefeated (7-0) and won the Texas Horseshoe Pitchers Association (THPA) Class A 30-Feet Division at the Jimmy Bryant Classic in Waco last Saturday. She scored a total of 273 points with 196 of them ringer points.

THE BURLESON COUNTY 8U Machine Pitch Softball All-Stars placed fourth in the 2021 District-13 tournament in La Grange last week. In double-elimination bracket play, the team beat Grimes County 17-11 before losing to Bellville 18-12.

SISD V-ball camps begin June 14

The Lady Yegua volleyball camps start next week. For incoming fourth through eighth-graders, there will be a camp from 9-11 a.m. on June 14-17. The cost for the camp is $25. Also on June 14-17, incoming high school freshmen through seniors will have a team camp from 1-4 p.m.
