Lady Jays begin season 2-0

The Snook Lady Jays began their 2025-2026 season last week with road wins over Milano and Normangee.Last Tuesday, the Lady Jays flew into Milano, caging the Lady Eagles 55-25.Then, Friday, Snook traveled to Normangee, edging out the Lady Panthers 40-38.

Ellis named Co-Offensive MVP for District 25-2A

With Burton’s fiveset loss to Shiner in the UIL Region 4 Class 2A Division II Championship, officials with District 25-2A Volleyball were able to release their All-District selections.Somerville’s Karys Ellis was named the district’s Co-Offensive MVP.

Lady Yeguas battle Milano for 44-32 win

Last Friday, the Milano Lady Eagles flew into Somerville, eyeingawin,buttheLadyYeguascameawaywith a season home opener 44-32 victory.The Lady Yeguas are now 2-0 for 2025-2026 -- tying their win total from last year’s entire season.

Eastepp earns Defensive MVP honors for District 22-4A

With the elimination of Bellville from the UIL Class 4A Divison I State Tournament, losing to La Vernia in the State Semifinals, officials with District 22-4A released their volleyball All-District selections.Caldwell’s Natalie Eastepp was named as the district’s Defensive MVP for the 2025 season.

Snook falls to Franklin JV 34, concludes season

The Snook Bluejays finished their season last Thursday with a 34-0 home loss to Franklin JV, concluding their season after transitioning to JV play midway through the schedule.Snook dropped down to the JV level due to manpower shortage and expects to return to varsity play next year.

Hornets fall 63-14 to Bellville in finale

The Caldwell Hornets concluded their season last Friday in a 63-14 road loss to district champion Bellville.Caldwell finished the year 3-6-1 overall and 1-4 in district play, earning their first district win in six years.Bellville finished 8-2 overall and 5-0 in district play.

Lady Yeguas open season with big win over Waelder

The Lady Yeguas’ season opener against Waelder left the Lady Wildcats feeling more like little kittens as Somerville routed Waelder on the road 41-7.Somerville’s defense held Waelder scoreless in the first quarter, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 15-0.
