The annual “Meet the Bluejays” will be Friday, Aug. 8 in Snook.The event will feature the coaches and athletes for volleyball, football, and cross country and the cheerleaders.That night will also feature the volleyball alumni game at 7 p.m. and “Midnight Football Practice” from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Evers reels in fishing championship at Blue Boot Rodeo

Carson Evers won the Overall Champion Fisherman title in the Kids Division at the Blue Boot Rodeo over July 10-12 at Grand Isle Marina in Grand Isle, Louisiana.Evers also won first in the Sheepshead category and swept the Red Fish under 27 inches, placing first, second and third.

The Caldwell Crushers 10U softball team recently traveled to Panama City Beach, Florida, to play in the US Fast Pitch Association (USFA) World Series.The Crushers competed in the 10 Under C Division.

Caldwell’s Spencer Ellis has had quite a year.He qualified for the Class 4A Region III Cross Country Meet in the fall, finishing 78th with a time of 18:21.50 -- better than his 2023 regional placing of 84th with a time of 18:59.01.He also won the Kolache Krunch 5K with a time of 18:04.

Texas Football picks Yeguas 4th in District 13-2A DII

Dave Campbells’ Texas Football(DCTF )magazine were able to view what the publication’s prophets had to say about the upcoming 2025 football season.And, they predict Somerville to once again to make the playoffs.However, the Hornets and the Bluejays were not picked to do as well in the fall.
